Obama trying to silence critics?

The party of free speech and political dissent is at it again in an effort to ensure the only free speech is their speech. Barack Obama's campaign is reportedly furious over the following ad linking the new messiah to a former terrorist.

"It seems they protest a bit too much," American Issues Project spokesman Christian Pinkston said. "They're going all of these routes—through threats, intimation—to try to thwart the First Amendment here because they don't have an argument on merit."

The Obama Campaign has apparently already addressed this issue in an ad attacking McCain.

This raises some interesting questions about what connection Obama has with Ayers. The Washington Post Blog addresses this by stating the only known link between Obama and Ayers is that they both served on a anti poverty group's board of directors, Ayers donated $200 to Obama's campaign, and they lived in the same neighborhood in Chicago.

So where does the allegation that Obama's political career began in Ayers'
living room coming from?

In researching this entry I have found numerous allegations that Ayers had invited people from the community to his home to introduce them to the aspiring politician, but I have no credible sources to support this. I have also read that Ayers hosted a dinner in Obama's honor which Obama attended. Again, these are things I have read but which I have no real evidence to support. If someone out there has some credible information on this topic, I would like to know about it.

Obama picks Biden

Obama picked this guy?!? Really? No, Really?!?

Well, I guess with Deleware in doubt he decided to shore up all those electoral votes (sarcasm). Honestly, I cannot think of a worse pick for Obama. What does Biden bring to the ticket? Executive experience? Nope. Age? Well yeah, but there are lots of candidates that could have done that.

Don't get me wrong, I am happy he picked Biden. Biden is an easy target. His loose tongue has got him into trouble in the past and will continue to get him into trouble....

But that isn't the only nice thing Biden has had to say about Obama...

I can't help but wonder if Obama's pick was an insurance policy. With Obama trailing in the polls and the Dem's starting to show buyer's remorse, Biden may prove a useful scapegoat for the young aspiring Obama. Only time will tell whether Obama throws biden under the bus. This assumes of course that Obama loses badly in the G.E.

Obama in France

Today presidential hopeful Barack Obama is visiting France and meeting with French President Sarkozy. Obama and Sarkozy held a joint news conference in which Obama pledged to make cutting carbon emmissions in order to stem global warming a key element of his presidency. Obama did not speak in French during his trip to France; however, my sources have indicated that Barack, on several occasions, was overheard using the phrase "merci beaucoup."

Take 2

I gave the Obama video a second try. I took out the dancing marijuana leaf and adjusted the volume a bit. We'll see if this version goes over any better than the first:

The first video is here.

Barack Obama: For a Higher America

Barack Obama has openly admitted to being a "pothead" and "junkie" in his youth. His youthful indiscretions include the use of marijuana and "blow," which is a street term for cocaine. In his candid admissions of drug use, Barack Hussein Obama said, "I inhaled, frequently, that was the point."

So in honor of his youthful indiscretions, I put together a little video to raise awareness about this would-be preseident. Enjoy!

Obama: Religious Right "Hijacked" Jesus

10,000 flock to church to hear Obama speak
By Manya Brachear
Chichago Tribune

HARTFORD, Conn. -- They came to hear a prophet. Some believe they did. Others heard just another politician.

More than 10,000 members of the United Church of Christ rose to their feet in a hockey arena here on Saturday to applaud one of their own who happens to be a Democratic presidential candidate--Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.).

Weaving biblical imagery with political promises, Obama, a member of Trinity United Church of Christ on Chicago's South Side, encouraged those in the audience to follow their consciences and fight for a better America.

"Doing the Lord's work is a thread that's run through our politics since the very beginning," Obama told church members. "And it puts the lie to the notion that the separation of church and state in America--a principle we all must uphold and that I have embraced as a constitutional lawyer and most importantly as a Christian--means faith should have no role in public life."

He also accused the Christian Right of "hijacking" Jesus to polarize the public.

"Somehow, somewhere along the way, faith stopped being used to bring us together. Faith started being used to drive us apart," he said. "Faith got hijacked partly because of the so-called leaders of the Christian Right, who've been all too eager to exploit what divides us.

"At every opportunity, they've told evangelical Christians that Democrats disrespect their values and dislike their church, while suggesting to the rest of the country that religious Americans care only about issues like abortion and gay marriage, school prayer and intelligent design," he said.

Yes... those pesky religious right-wingers are using the church to divide Americans and promote their political agenda.

...No word on whether Jessie Jackson or Al Sharpton were in attendance.

Obama: Woops

Obama overstates Kansas tornado deaths

RICHMOND, Va. - Barack Obama, caught up in the fervor of a campaign speech Tuesday, drastically overstated the Kansas tornadoes death toll, saying 10,000 had died. The death toll was 12.

"In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died — an entire town destroyed," the Democratic presidential candidate said in a speech to 500 people packed into a sweltering Richmond art studio for a fundraiser.

That's a pretty big whoops.

10,000 Americans would be...
More than 5 times the death toll of Hurricane Katrina
Well more than 3 times the death toll of 9/11
Just barely less than 3 times the number of US soldiers who have died in this Iraq War

But hey, Obama only missed the right count by 9,988.

Democrat Leaders Boycott Fox News

Democrats, Fox News Channel lock horns
Associated Press

NEW YORK - Democrats running for president seem to find Fox News Channel as ripe a target as President Bush, a development with dangerous implications for both the network and the politicians.

Fox has tried twice, without success, to set up a debate with the major Democratic contenders. Both times they failed because of pressure applied by online liberal activists, who consider Fox biased toward Republicans and conservatives.

The first debate, which was to be co-sponsored by Fox and the Nevada Democratic party, had been set for this August but was canceled. Fox then teamed with the Congressional Black Caucus Political Education and Leadership Institute for a Sept. 23 debate that is still scheduled, even though John Edwards, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton all said they won't attend.

I think that comic probably sums it up for most folks.

Obama's Children Targeted By Online Pervert

I've not been sure how to handle this story. I imagine that is why the press has been ignoring it.

via The Smoking Gun

Obama Tangles With Online Pervert
Photos of pol's daughters were posted on pedophile's web site
MARCH 4--Senator Barack Obama is threatening legal action against a self-described pedophile who has posted photos of the Democratic politician's young daughters on a web site that purports to handicap the 2008 presidential campaign by evaluating the "cuteness" of underage daughters and granddaughters of White House aspirants.

The sick, disgusting freak, and admitted pedophile, who is posting pictures of Presidential hopefuls children and grandchildren is apparently a foreigner not living in America.

I think it is pretty awful that anyone would do such a thing. I can't help but think we ought to send a special ops team down to find this guy and take him out.

In a loosely related story, Texas is considering making repeat child molestation is capital offense. I think this is a great idea:
Legislators OK death for some pedophiles
By POLLY ROSS HUGHES and AND PEGGY FIKAC
Houston Chronicle Austin Bureau

AUSTIN — Individuals found guilty twice under a new criminal offense called "ongoing sexual abuse" of children could get the death penalty under a bill tentatively approved Monday by the Texas House.

The bill, passing 118-23, targets pedophiles abusing children over an extended period with the death penalty or life without parole, a narrower use of capital punishment than a measure the House withdrew last week amid concerns about its constitutionality.

Does anyone object to this? Anyone? My ONLY objection is that they have to be convicted of the crime twice in order to face the death penalty. I think they ought to face the gallows on the first offence, or at the very least face a chemical castration.

Obama Facing Questions Re: Investments

Obama faces questions on his blind trust
By NEDRA PICKLER, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama (news, bio, voting record) said Wednesday he was not aware he had invested in two companies backed by some of his top donors and said he had done nothing to aid their business with the government.

The Illinois senator faced questions about more than $50,000 in investments he made right after taking office in 2005 in two speculative companies, AVI Biopharma and Skyterra Communications. Obama said his broker bought the stocks as part of a quasi-blind trust in which he was not consulted when trades were made.

...

Obama purchased $5,000 in shares for AVI, which was developing a drug to treat avian flu. Two weeks after buying the stock, as the disease was spreading in Asia, Obama pushed for more federal funding to fight the disease, but he said he did not discuss the matter with any company officials.

Shocking New Ad Targeting Hillary

Pajama's Media has an amazing video up.

The video purports to be from the Obama campaign; however, at this point it is unclear whether his camp had anything to do with this.

Wow. This election cycle is going to be UGLY.

Obama's Ancestors: Slave Owners?

Obama's ancestors may have owned slaves
NEDRA PICKLER, Associated Press Writer

ObamaWASHINGTON - Democrat Barack Obama, who would be the first black president, has white ancestors who owned slaves, according to a genealogical researcher.

The researcher, William Addams Reitwiesner, says the discovery is part of his first draft of research into Obama's roots. Obama's father was from Kenya and his mother was a white woman from Kansas.

Wow. This after Obama started making gains with black voters. The same black voters that Hillary has been buying off with cash and promises.

Who could possibly gain from this hit piece on Obama? Hmm...

Slash Burn, When Will They Learn?

vs

'Slash and burn' row as Clinton, Obama trade shots
Stephen Collinson

WASHINGTON (AFP) - The 2008 Democratic presidential race took a sharp, nasty turn with Hillary Clinton's camp ripping into rising star rival Barack Obama as he savored a million-dollar Hollywood debut.

...

heheheThe flap erupted hours after director Steven Spielberg and stars such as Jennifer Aniston and Eddie Murphy reportedly helped Tinseltown glitterati raise more than 1.3 million dollars for Obama's White House bid.

With tensions rising 11 months before the first party nominating contests, the row centered on a New York Times column Wednesday, in which Geffen was quoted as branding Senator Clinton overly ambitious and "polarizing."

...

"By refusing to disavow the personal attacks from his biggest fundraiser against Senator Clinton and President Clinton, Senator Obama has called into serious question whether he really believes his own rhetoric," Hillary Clinton communications director Howard Wolfson said in a statement.

"How can Senator Obama denounce the politics of slash and burn yesterday while his own campaign is espousing the politics of trash today?" Wolfson said.

Clinton herself, at a Democratic Party candidates forum in the western state of Nevada, sought the political high ground.

"I want to run a very positive campaign, I sure don't want Democrats or supporters of Democrats to be engaging in the politics of personal destruction," she said when asked about the controversy.

...

"It is ironic that the Clintons had no problem with David Geffen when he was raising them 18 million dollars and sleeping at their invitation in the Lincoln bedroom."

...

Geffen was quoted by Times columnist Maureen Dowd as doubting Clinton's capacity to bring Americans together.

"I don't think that another incredibly polarizing figure, no matter how smart she is, and no matter how ambitious she is -- and God knows, is there anybody more ambitious than Hillary Clinton? -- can bring the country together."

And in another shot at the former first couple, Geffen told the Times: "Everybody in politics lies, but they do it with such ease, it's troubling."

"I don't think anybody believes that in the last six years, all of a sudden Bill Clinton has become a different person," Geffen was quoted as saying of the former president impeached over an affair with a White House intern.

Analysis: Early bumps trip Clinton camp

NEW YORK - A Hollywood-style brawl with the campaign of rival Barack Obama (news, bio, voting record) is the latest in a series of speed bumps tripping up Hillary Rodham Clinton's early presidential moves.

From the Clinton team's decision to criticize — and therefore publicize — producer David Geffen's complaints about both Clintons to increasingly skeptical questions about Sen. Clinton's nuanced explanation of her 2002 vote authorizing the Iraq war, it became apparent even a battle-tested front-runner can fall prey to missteps.

Hillary's Plan to Defeat Obama

She will simply buy the black vote.

Looking in the wayback machine, we see that Hillary bought off a prominent Black leader in SC, a Congressman who has accepted a $10,000 a month "consulting" contract to deliver the black vote in South Carolina.

Now she is promising aid for minority students:

...

"This achievement gap is deeply troubling to me," Clinton said. "If we don't invest in our children, our society and our economy will decline. This is not just something nice to do, this is something that we have to do."

Clinton, a New York senator and former first lady, spoke and took questions for an hour from the mostly black audience of 300 in the Liberty City neighborhood. The event was sandwiched between fundraisers in Tampa, Miami and Hollywood that were closed to the press.

...

"She's showing us, 'Look, the black community has been a major supporter and I want to keep you as a major supporter.' It's a clear message. I don't think it was subtle,"

Meanwhile,
Clinton defends consulting contract
JIM DAVENPORT, Associated Press Writer

FLORENCE, S.C. - Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton on Monday denied that her campaign traded money for an endorsement from one of South Carolina's most influential black politicians.

Right, I mean sure, it LOOKS like she is buying the black vote, but really, this is all very innocent, she isn't afraid of Obama, or anything, right?

Notice how the people she cares most about (prominent black congressmen who can deliver the black vote) get real money - her money - while the people she cares less about (people who cannot deliver more than their one vote) get only promises of money - federal money.

Obama: A Black Man Can Be President, Ford: Yeah But Not You

ObamaObama: U.S. ready for black president
AP - White House hopeful Barack Obama, taking a fellow black lawmaker to task, said Saturday voters are ready to elect a black president.
..

Obama responded to comments this past week by Democratic state Sen. Robert Ford of Charleston, who helped mobilize black voters for former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards in 2004, but has switched to Hillary Rodham Clinton in the 2008 presidential race.

Ford said Tuesday that Obama, a first-term senator, has much to prove. "The media made this guy bigger than life," Ford said. "This guy isn't tested and they made him a rock star."

Ford said one reason he was supporting Clinton, the New York senator, is that he is skeptical Obama can win the presidency and worries his nomination could hurt other Democratic candidates.

"Every Democrat running on that ticket next year would lose — because he's black and he's top of the ticket. We'd lose the House and the Senate and the governors and everything," Ford said.

Looks like I am in agreement with two Democrats. Obama is right: a black man can be President in America. And Ford is right: if Obama is on top of the ticket, Democrats will lose it all in '08. I pontificate why Obama cannot winhere in great detail.
